review

For me, this was by far and away, the best book in this trio.

It is not safe for work (in my opinion) on two counts – firstly because this book, as expected, is raunchy as you like.  Secondly, there is a serious  mascara run/ugly cry risk.

And despite the emotional wringer that the authors put me through with this particular story, they are completely forgiven.  This couple are my favourite – Linc with his cheeky humour; Reagan with her suppressed desires.  Humour, chemistry, emotion.  Put these things all together and its a winning combination.

And that epilogue?  Pitched just right.

Loved it.

Hate 2 Lovers

by K. Webster & J.D. Hollyfield

Publication Date: April 4, 2017

Genres: Adult, Contemporary, Romantic Comedy

Hate 2 lovers.jpg***This is book two in the series. It is best if you read book one first to fully understand this couple’s story.***

She hates him and his big head.
He likes her and her big t*ts.

She hates him because she somehow ends up naked every time she sees him.
He likes her because she somehow ends up naked every time he sees her.

She hates him because the big oaf knocked her up with his kid.
He likes her because she’s carrying his child.

She hates the way he gets inside her head.
He likes the way she lets him see glimpses of her heart.

Andie: I hate you.
Roman: I know…but I’m going to change that.

review

Oh my goodness, but this book is exhausting!  I didn’t like Andie in the previous book, and I think that I used the phrase “full tilt crazy” when describing what I thought that her book would be like.  And from that point of view, it really didn’t disappoint.

I confess that this book left me a bit in two minds.  Roman was a delightful character to read.  Now don’t misunderstand – I don’t mean that in a cutesy way, oh no.  I mean that he was complex, funny and completely besotted with Andie.

But her?  I didn’t really take to her.  She lost her temper.  All. The. Time.  And at times, it got just a little wearing.  This seemed to ease off after a while, and I was grateful for this, because it allowed me to enjoy the story all the more.

I did enjoy the story, I just wish the authors had turned the volume down on Andie a little.  The pacing was good, the plot solid, and the characters entertaining.

Review & #giveaway – Too Wilde to Tame by Tonya Burrows @tonyaburrows @indiesagepromo

Too Wilde to Tame

by Tonya Burrows
Wilde Security #5
Publication Date: February 27, 2017
Genres: Adult, Entangled: Ignite, Contemporary, Romance

SYNOPSIS:

For three years, ballet teacher Natalie Taggart has lived across the hall from grumpy, reclusive, sexy Greer Wilde. Save for a handful of hellos and the occasional heated glance, they never spoke to each other.

Until the morning Greer lands on her doorstep, bleeding, beaten, and bullet-riddled.

Greer doesn’t need or want her help. He has only one goal: revenge. And nobody—not his brothers, and certainly not his too-hot-for-his-sanity next-door neighbor—is going to get in his way.

review

I confess – I haven’t read any of the other books in this series.  Nor do I think you need to in order to enjoy this story, although inevitably, details will be filled in should you choose to do so.  This book is, however, perfectly easily read as a standalone.

And the story is a good one. The author has developed characters with whom it is easy to make an emotional connection – the hopelessness felt by Greer, the frustration felt by Natalie.  Both are drawn on the page with deft strokes.

But don’t think that the author has sacrificed the plot to concentrate on the relationship.  This is a tense storyline which kept my interest throughout.

A one sitting read.
