About Rancher Next Door:

For two years, Lucas has been a single guy. His high-school sweetheart wife cheated on him and left on a string of words like unreliable, disappointing, and failure. Then an old childhood friend moves back next door, only now she’s a woman. And single. And ignoring him.

When her irritating neighbor disrupts her night, Trina’s late for an early morning interview. If she can’t land this job, she can’t afford to go back to school. When Lucas pops up again, she takes his peace offering. Pretend to date him and she’ll get the job.

They both know deal. It should be no problem. But the bigger the glimpse she gets into his lonely life, the more she wants to be a part of it—at the risk of her own damaged heart. And the more he learns about her plans and ambitions, the more he knows his ex-wife was right—he has nothing to offer.

Well, she’s done it again.  Another hugely enjoyable, character driven addition to the Part Time Cowboys series.  I appreciated the way that the author gave us a different spin on the slighted, undermined spouse, as well as the resolution that the couple worked through.

This was an engaging story from start to finish.

I voluntarily reviewed an advanced reader copy of this book.
