Book & Author Details:

Man of the World by Thea Dawson
Publication date: 8th December 2018
Genres: Contemporary, Romance

Carina Winter’s friends think she has a list of ex-lovers as long as Taylor Swift’s, but the truth is, she’s never had sex—and she’s determined that this will be the summer she makes it happen. When she runs into the guy she had a crush on in college, she sets her sights on seducing him … starting by snagging the rental house next door to his.

Drew Calhoun just wants to spend a quiet summer working on his book and getting over his certifiably crazy ex-girlfriend—no distractions, no commitments, and definitely no drama. But when the beautiful woman he knew in college moves in next door and suggests a friends-with-benefits arrangement … well, a little distraction couldn’t hurt now, could it?

Over the course of a scorching hot summer, Drew’s feelings for Carina start to deepen. But now that she’s gotten a taste of what she’s been missing, she may not be ready to settle down, and what started as a summer of no-strings fun could be headed toward heartbreak. Can Drew can find a way to convince Carina that he is everything she wants and all she needs?

review

Well.  This was not the story that I was expecting!  When I met Carina in book 1, I thought that this was going to be a twist on the “reformed player” trope.  I was wrong. And you know what?  I think that I enjoyed the story more as a result.

Carina is a breath of fresh air, as is Drew.  And together, their relationship is just a treat to read.  The back and forth is just the right side of frustrating, and their chemistry is smoking hot.

Loved it.

I voluntarily reviewed an advanced reader copy of this book.
