review

This is the third, and concluding volume in the series.  It is not a standalone, and I strongly urge you to read the first two in the series before starting this one.

So, to the book.  I really think that this is a fitting conclusion to a series that really caught my interest.

Although there are a lot of characters to keep up with and a somewhat twisting plot where it is difficult to keep up with who is betraying whom, it has just the right level of complexity to keep the story engaging without being overwhelming.

My issues with the characters’ repetitive behaviour from the previous book do not make a reappearance here.  Instead, we are gifted with a multi-layered, epic conclusion which was everything that I wanted it to be, both for the characters and the plot narrative.

I’ve loved this series.  I really have.  I will definitely be reading more from this author.

I voluntarily reviewed an Advanced Reader Copy of this book.

About the author

Karissa lives in North Carolina with her kid, her husband, the occasional in-law, and a very hairy husky. Some of her favorite things are coffee, chocolate, and super heroes. She can quote Princess Bride verbatim. She loves to read and has a sweet tooth for fantasy, sci-fi, and anything in between.

Sometimes her husband convinces her to put down the books and take the motorcycles out for a spin. When it snows, you’ll find her on the slopes.

Karissa also crafts, paints, draws, and harbors a grand delusion that she might create a graphic novel someday.
