BOOK & AUTHOR INFO:
Toxic by Nicole Blanchard
Publication date: August 22nd 2017
Genres: Dark Romance, Suspense
“John Doe” was just another patient. A criminal.
As a prison nurse, I knew the rules: do my job, don’t get involved, and never let a prisoner get under my skin.
I broke all three.
My passion, my obsession, my addiction. I risked my entire life so we could be together.
I thought helping him escape from prison would be the hard part.
It turns out when you fall in love with a villain, you also turn into one.
This book is completely different to anything else I have read from this author.
Now, I preface this review by saying that I don’t read a ton of dark romance, but I am really glad that I picked this one up.
The author’s writing style is strong and, unlike Tessa’s husband, pulls no punches. It elicited something of a visceral response from me. The type that tugs at you in a deeply emotional manner.
It is unflinching, and definitely not hearts and flowers. And yet, there is something completely captivating about this tale that kept me engrossed from start to finish.
I received a copy in exchange for an honest review.
