Trickster.jpgMinx Marksman—daughter of a Supermodel and a famous Rocker—wants nothing more than a normal, crazy-free life. One more nannying gig will earn her enough to achieve her dream of small cottage on the coast. That last job brings her to Nocturne Falls where she’s surprised to find out it’s Halloween every day.

Not so much on the normal, but high on the adorable.

Baby Gus and Uncle Hottie—aka Tim Johnson—seem to be a walk in the park at first. The flirty infant and the nerdy, glasses-wearing cutie grab her heart from the start. She’s falling fast for both guys, but she can’t help but notice that some things aren’t quite what they seem…

I really enjoy Bria’s writing style – it is full of humour and quirkiness, and never fails to put a smile on my face. But this is a little different set up and I was wondering how her voice would translate into the Nocturne Falls universe. The answer is, perfectly!

I find with shorter stories, that the connection between the protagonists feels forced, and that the falling in love part is truncated and unnatural. There was none of that here.

The author has succeeded, within the restricted page count, in teasing out a relationship between these two that felt organic, and real. Some might even say magical!

Light, fun and endearing. A joy to read.

I voluntarily reviewed an advanced reader copy of this book.

About the author

It didn’t surprise anyone when Bria Quinlan started writing YA Rom Coms… after all, her life is a walking sitcom (minus the commercials). Plus, secretly she’s still 16 (although her license says something different). Finally putting those English Literature and Creative Writing degrees and Copy Editing cert to work, Bria’s excited to get her quirky stories on the page to share with the world (or at least a segment of it).

She’s represented by the awesomely amazing Lauren Macleod of the Clan…. Oh, wait. Of Strothman Agency.

Bria writes Romantic Comedies for teens that take hard topics and make you laugh through your tears. You can contact her at OR twitter @briaquinlan

A proud Golden Heart Finalist, she’s focusing on writing stories that make you laugh, make you cry and remind you that life is an adventure not to be ignored.
