Unyielding (Out of the Box #11) by Robert J Crane
Publication date: November 22nd 2016
Genres: Sci Fi, Superhero
In a world of people with powers, Sienna Nealon has long been the one who maintained the order. But now she finds herself on the other end of the law, cast out and abandoned by her friends. On the run, hunted by relentless and implacable foes, she will face her greatest challenge – an enemy who holds a seat of power so great that even Sienna may not be able to stand up to him.
I’m really annoyed with Mr Crane. I put a lot of effort into actively disliking Scott. And now, for … reasons, it seems that I might have to revisit that view. Or not. I haven’t decided.
So, once again, Sienna is facing seemingly insurmountable odds without backup. Without friends. Without family. Yet the strength of Crane’s writing is in showing that however much she thinks she’s still isolated in a virtual box, there’s always hope. There’s always a speck of light at the end of the tunnel.
The real masterpiece of this book is in the final battle. Yes, that’s to be expected, I mean, it is the climax after all. But the implications of this are far reaching. And disturbing.
Another worthy addition to the series.
I received a copy in exchange for an honest review.
