Tides of Hope by Dawn Tomasko
(Nantucket Island Romance #1)
Publication date: February 11th 2016
Genres: Adult, Contemporary, Romance
Sara Shepard is newly divorced, estranged from her college-bound daughter and determined to rebuild her life on Nantucket Island. The last thing she wants is a billionaire ex-CEO turned carpenter hanging around.
But that’s exactly what he does…he’s been hired to remodel her beach house.
Gabriel Donovan is instantly attracted to Sara, but it’s much more than her beautiful face and curvy body that pulls at him. He admires her fiercely guarded independence, but it’s the woman underneath it all that makes him want to tear down the walls she’s built around her heart.
When their relationship goes beyond the physical, a heart pounding element of danger puts much more than their hearts on the line.
One of the exciting bits about reviewing books is discovering new authors. Especially when said author delivers a decent book.
This book was an enjoyable mental trip to Nantucket. The author created vivid images of the location and the people. I particularly enjoyed the dynamic between Sara and Gabriel. Her reluctance. His confidence. Their interactions.
Additionally, I really felt that Ms Tomaski did a good job with the mother/daughter relationship. It was well observed, with appropriate levels of teenage friction.
I’m definitely interested in seeing what more this series has to offer.
I received a copy in exchange for an honest review.
