Tressa is a Sidhe in hiding. Happy with her new life in the Human World, she becomes engrossed in the human drama around her. When evidence surfaces that unfriendly fae may be nearby Tressa is surprised to learn many fae still believe she is the King’s Jewel of an ancient prophecy.
Will the evil fae find Tressa in her place of refuge? If her enemies should find her, can she protect the people she loves? And what part does the dark eyed stranger and his daughter play in her future?
Above all- is it possible that, even after losing faith in her destiny, she will guide the Sidhe race back into heaven’s good graces?
I felt immediately enveloped in this story. Yes, there is a lot going on, but to me, it never felt rushed or over complicated. I feel that it is a great platform on which to base the rest of the series.
The author has created a wonderful connection between all the characters, not just Tressa and Xander. And, throughout the narrative, there is delicate, deft touches of misdirection.
And after finishing this book, I am left to ponder the special mystery that is Sophia.
Overall, a promising start to the series.
I received a copy in exchange for an honest review.
I was born and raised in Pennsylvania and currently live in the Pocono Mountains area with my wonderfully supportive husband, my thoughtful easy-going son, and two delightful dogs.
As with most authors, I’ve been a voracious reader since childhood. I began writing novel length fiction in 1997. I wouldn’t show those early books to anyone now—but writing them was how I learned the craft.
I opened a business in 2002, which effectively put an end to my novel writing hobby. But I used the skills I learned to write marketing materials for the new business. I also wrote articles that appeared in newspapers, magazines and websites; all intended to promote my business. During this time, I even started a couple of blogs just for my own entertainment.
Eventually the yearning to write fiction resurfaced. I’m of Irish heritage, which is how I became interested in Celtic Mythology. I wanted to write a romantic fantasy, so I decided to use the Celtic Mythology, specifically of Ireland, as the starting point of the story. And The King’s Jewel Series was born!
Here are a few fun facts about me:
- I haven’t always lived in Pennsylvania; New Jersey was my home for 12 years
- Before opening my business I worked on Wall Street for 21 years; 9 of which I commuted from PA to Manhattan
- Besides reading, I also enjoy photography, fashion, and music
- In 2001, I traveled with my family to Ireland where I kissed the Blarney Stone but didn’t run into any of the fae!
