After surviving a brutal spider attack, Erin Angelo finds herself questioning the life she’s about to embark on with her fiance, Alek Dostov, a child prodigy and former Russian gang member. Yet, there’s no denying she’s completely and totally in love with Alek and will do whatever she can to help him finally escape his past misgivings.

From the moment fate brought Erin Angelo into his life on one painful day in her hometown of Lafayette, Louisiana, Alek has been haunted by and maybe even obsessed with the girl with the sad brown eyes, the woman who has finally managed to turn him away from a life of violence and organized crime.

Yet the man known as the Widow and his sidekick the Phoenix, the men responsible for recruiting Alek, have kidnapped his mother. And there’s only one way to get her back. Alek must return to the Siberian crime scene and call on some of the darkest people from his past, dragging Erin deeper into the shadowy world he left behind and testing the love they share as never before.

Will Alek be able to resist the pull of his past and move on with Erin? Or will returning to the Siberian crime scene destroy everything the couple has fought to overcome?

The Finale is the explosive conclusion to the Internationally Bestselling Musical Interlude Series.

  1. Did you always know you wanted to be a writer or did you want to be something else?

I always understood that I have a very large imagination. I figured I was going to have to choose to do something in life that went along with that. So my answer is yes!

  1. How long does it take you to write a book from start to finish?

It really depends on the genre. Basically, I write 3 different ones: Fantasy, Gothic Romance, and Paranormal Romance. It took me almost 6 years to get the Lost Immortals right. The Gothic novel, Hacienda Moon, started out as a screenplay. It took me 4 years to get that one. The paranormal romance series, Dark Seraphine, only took a year. And the Prelude began as another novel altogether six years ago.

  1. How do you come up with themes for your stories?

I’m odd. It all starts with the title and a photograph. LoL

  1. Do you have a schedule of when you write?

Yes! Between 3am-8am. That’s the most alert time of the entire day for me. It’s all caffeine induced afterward. 😀

  1. How are you able to balance other aspects of your life with your writing?

I have a very large support group. Plus, my sons are teenagers that have their own lives so they’re very understanding of mom’s obsession.

  1. What elements do you think make a great story line?

Memorable characters, a strong plot, and most of all tight writing: all of those things come together to create your style which is what you should use to pull your reader into the story.

  1. What was the hardest thing about writing a book?

Everything is hard. No kidding. There is just so much that goes into creating a living, breathing story. To give that touch that makes it feel real takes a lot of patience, skill, and time.

  1. How many books have you written so far? Do you have a favorite?

I’ve written close to 13 books and counting. No, not all of them are published yet. LOL. I love all of my stories, but my two favorites by far are Dark Seraphine and the Prelude. Dark Seraphine is written in a male’s voice. My sons are the ones who helped me the most with it. My betas have said it’s my best voice yet. I told them that’s because I grew up with boys and live with a house full of them. So naturally, the male’s voice is what I know best. I’ve always worked around people of different nationalities, so Alek Dostov’s voice also came naturally to me. And yes, there’s a person in real life who helped me get the mentality right. 😀

  1. Do you have a favorite character?

Sure do. Seth Alton from the Lost Immortals. He’s bad-boy sexy, but he also has a good heart. Caleb Wood, my 17-year-old lead in Dark Seraphine, comes in at a close second place though.

  1. Where do you write?

I sit at my desk that’s beside my deck. That way I feel close to nature.

  1. When deciding on how to publish, what directed you to the route you took?

Do you mean that crazy indie person route? LoL. I joined a group called YA LitChat and met many talented authors just starting out like me. I’m talking some that are truly big names now. I became close friends with one of the moderators, LM Preston, and she convinced me to try out indie publishing. So I did. I haven’t looked back since.

  1. Have you gotten feedback from family about your book(s)? What do they think?

Oh yes. They’re in awe, and are really proud of what I’ve done so far.

  1. What kinds of things do you like to do outside of writing?

Oh boy. I’m a DIY girl. I love HGTV, love David Bromstad. Hehe. I also garden, play Tomb Raider, and spend too much money on movies with Chris Hemsworth in them. 😀

  1. What kinds of advice would you give to someone who wants to start writing?

Read. Read. Read. Write. Read. Read. Read. Write some more. Don’t skimp on that formula. If you do, then your readers will pick up on it.

  1. What is your favorite book? Favorite author? Do you have an author that inspired/inspires you to write?

I love too many books to clump them into one favorite. It’s the same with authors. I can name a few of my inspirations though: Octavia Butler, Anne Rice, Kami Garcia, J.K. Rowling, Dean Koontz (on his good-book days), Stephen King (same as DK) Ann Radcliffe, Mary Shelley, Elizabeth Kostova, and many others.

  1. Do you have any go to people when writing a book that help you with your story lines as well as editing, beta reading and such?

I have a team of beta readers, a proofreader, a super sharp editor, three award winning cover designers, and someone who writes my press releases. In fact, I’m planning to officially launch KaSonndra Leigh Books, LLC as an official publishing entity in 2016. Keep an eye out for details on that. 😀

  1. Are you working on anything now?

Always. I’m polishing up the Lost Immortals Book 3 and writing my first MMA title called Sebastian’s Closet. This is a surprise, so you’ll have to keep an eye out for the news on this one. **winks**

About the author

KaSonndraAuthor of the Bestelling Lost Immortals Saga, Musical Interlude Series, and the PathSeekers Novels, KaSonndra is also a mother, blogazine owner, reader, gardener, home renovator, and a slayer of undead Egyptian mummies in Tomb Raider. She believes in karma, coffee, and seriously wish that the producers of Xena would bring her favorite show ever back.

Strange things about KaSonndra: Everything. She’s weird, odd, unusual, and generally tends to make people think she swooped down from another planet. Maybe she did. Who knows? She’s also a member of the #zombiesurvivalcrew on twitter. So if you need protection from the upcoming apocalypse, don’t hesitate to call on KayLeigh and crew!

KaSonndra was born in the race-car city of Charlotte, NC, and now live in the City of Alchemy and Medicine, NC, when she’s not hanging out in Bardonia (Lost Immortals Saga setting). Most of her characters are based on people that she has met throughout her travels and adventures. People tend to stop and start conversations with KaSonndra as if she has known them her entire life. Does this freak her out? Not really. Her mom says that one day she’ll get kidnapped by one of these folks. KaSonndra’s response? She told her mom that if it weren’t for these lovely people, then she wouldn’t be able to create such fabulously romantic stories.

A few other tidbits about KaSonndra… She has watched the movie Under the Tuscan Sun almost 200 times. This is her explanation regarding her obsession. She figures that if she keeps watching the film enough times, then suddenly the house that Diane Lane lives in will magically appear in her backyard. Yes! KaSonndra has a huge imagination!
